Over the past three or four years, I have taken trips to Chicago on a handful of occasions. The trips that I have taken to Chicago have been a mixture of business and personal trips. My latest trip to Chicago was a business visit about three and a half months ago.

Since I have been to Chicago several times, I have picked up a variety of tips on making travel there as easy as possible. One thing that I have done on every trip to Chicago is getting a car rental. From my personal experience, the best thing you can do is get online and make your car rental reservation prior to your trip. Not only will this save you money, but it will also allow you to have a rental car waiting at the Chicago airport for you when you arrive.

My Car Rental in Chicago

During last year’s NBA season, I took a trip to Chicago to see the Bulls play a game at their home arena. They were playing the Pistons, and I was extremely excited to be inside of the Bulls arena again. I have been a fan of the Bulls since all the way back when Michael Jordan was playing for them, but unlike many other so-called fans, I have remained loyal to them even after he left the team. Although I live in Texas, for the past four or five years, I have taken a trip to Chicago during the NBA season to see them play a game on their home court. Even though I go to their games when they play the Mavericks in Dallas (and sometimes when they play the Rockets in Houston), there is something special about seeing them play on their home court in Chicago.

In addition to getting a hotel during my trips to Chicago, I also get a rental car. I didn’t get a rental car during my first trip to Chicago, but learned quite quickly that getting around in just taxis gets quite expensive!

As a part of my job, I have to travel to quite a few different cities in the United States throughout the course of the year. In all honestly, there are several cities that I do not enjoy visiting at all. However, one city that I have always liked is Chicago. While I have what seems like an endless amount of bad stories about the handful of cities that I don’t like, the good experiences I have had in Chicago far outweigh the bad.

One area of traveling that has always gone well in Chicago is getting a rental car. I can’t remember how long ago it was when I took my first trip to Chicago, but I do remember that I rented a car from Enterprise on my very first trip there. Because I was so impressed with how Enterprise treated me, I have gotten my rental car from them during every other trip that I have taken to Chicago. I have also used Enterprise to rent a car in other cities, and while their service has been good, I don’t think any of my experiences can compare to how well I’m treated in Chicago.

As a result of my job in sales, I have done quite a bit of traveling over the last fifteen years.
