If you took a survey of a random group of people, I think it is safe to assume that the majority of them would say that they find traveling to be a stressful experience. I have done quite a bit of traveling myself, and I can completely understand why most people find it to be a frustrating experience. However, because I have (and still do) travel on a regular basis, I have spent some time looking at how to make my traveling experiences go as smoothly as possible.
To give you an example of what I’m talking about, let’s take a look at my most recent trip to Chicago. Because I was staying in Chicago for five days, I knew that I would need a rental car to use for transportation during those five days. Although I could have waited until I arrived to make rental car arrangements, to save myself time, I reserved my rental car online. This meant that I was able to pickup my airport car rental in Chicago as soon as I arrived, instead of waiting in line to make my rental reservation.

As anyone who has ever flown somewhere knows, traveling can be a stressful experience. From standing in extremely long lines to getting delayed for excessive amounts of time by security checkpoints, most people would happily choose a different method of transportation if it could get them from one place to another as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, flying is still the fastest way to get around, which is why people continue to tolerate all of the annoyances involved with this method of transportation.
Although it’s impossible to always avoid all of the problems associated with flying, you can take steps to minimize them. For example, I recently took a trip where I arrived at the Chicago airport. I needed to pickup a rental car when I arrived at the Chicago airport, so to ensure that this went as smoothly as possible, I made my car rental reservation ahead of time. By already having a rental car reserved, I was able to get my rental car right after I stepped off of the plane, instead of having to wait in line until an attendant could help me make my reservation.

Now that it is a new year, there is a good chance that you will be taking at least one trip throughout the year. Even if you aren’t planning on taking any elaborate trips, I would guess that you will end up at least going somewhere once throughout the course of the year.
Since we are on this topic, I guess it would only make sense for me to talk about where I am planning to go for my first trip of 2009. My trip is actually in the very near future, because it will be taking place towards the beginning of February. The trip that I am planning to take is to Chicago for four days. I am going to Chicago with my girlfriend, and the reason that we are actually going is because we found a great travel package to this city online. The package that we scooped up includes a hotel, rental car and our flight, and we were able to get it at a very fair price.
Because we both like to travel, this trip seems like a good way to continue enjoying ourselves once the freshness of the new year has begun to wear off.

Although it took place over two months ago, I am still excited about the trip that I got to take to Chicago. The reason that I am still excited about this trip two months after it ended was because it was the first time that I had gotten a chance to visit Chicago. Since this was my first time to visit this great city, I wanted to make the most of it. In addition to scheduling my trip for a total of eight days, I also chose a hotel that was in a central location. To top things off, I also got a rental car in Chicago to use for all of my transportation needs.
I am really glad that I made the decision ahead of time to stay in Chicago for a total of eight days. The reason I’m glad that I made this decision is because there was so much for me to do in Chicago, and I feel like if I wouldn’t have stayed for all eight days, I wouldn’t have gotten to see and do everything that Chicago has to offer.
